Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 09/08/2026 | Version: 2.0
1. About us and these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to experiences supplied by Islandia Tours 64n21w ehf. , kennitala 550124-1140, trading as Iceland Rewild, with registered address at Nýbýlavegur 48A, 860 Hvolsvöllur, Iceland (“Iceland Rewild”, “REWILD”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Contact: info@icelandrewild.com / +354 8329150.
By making a direct booking through our website or a Bókun checkout operated for us, the person making the booking (“booker”) agrees to these terms for themselves and confirms that they are authorised to accept them for everyone included in the booking. The product description, booking confirmation and any product-specific requirements form part of the agreement.
2. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed only when payment has been accepted and a booking confirmation has been issued. The booker must provide complete and accurate information, check the confirmation promptly, and tell us without delay about any error. Iceland Rewild is not responsible for exchange-rate movements or charges imposed by a customer’s bank or card provider.
3. Customer cancellation and refunds
3.1 Applicable policy.
The cancellation policy stated on the product page and in the booking confirmation applies to the booking.
3.2 Iceland After Dark: Volcanoes & the Northern Lights.
A customer may cancel this activity for a full refund if the cancellation is submitted or received at least 24 hours before the exact scheduled start time in Iceland local time. A cancellation received less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time is non-refundable.
3.3 Other day tours.
Unless the product page or booking confirmation expressly states otherwise, another day tour may be cancelled up to 14 calendar days before its scheduled departure for the partial refund after any disclosed non-refundable payment, transfer or currency-conversion charges. A cancellation received less than 14 calendar days before departure is non-refundable. This includes a booking made within that 14-day period.
3.4 Itinerary consultation.
An itinerary-consultation fee is non-refundable once booked, except if Iceland Rewild cancels or cannot provide the consultation, or where mandatory law requires otherwise. Any permitted rescheduling terms will be stated on the consultation product page or booking confirmation.
3.5 No-shows and incomplete participation.
Late arrival, failure to attend, inability to participate because stated requirements were not met, and leaving an experience early are non-refundable, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
3.6 How to cancel.
Use the cancellation link in the booking confirmation or contact info@icelandrewild.com. The cancellation is effective when successfully submitted through the booking system or received by us. Keep the cancellation confirmation.
3.7 Refund method.
Eligible refunds are made to the original payment method. We will initiate the refund promptly, but bank or payment-provider processing times are outside our control. Currency conversion or bank charges are governed by the relevant provider.
4. Changes requested by the customer
Requests to change the date, start time, participant names or group size are subject to availability, the cancellation policy applicable to that product, and any price difference. A change may be treated as a cancellation and new booking. Changes are not guaranteed and do not create a right to a refund. A rescheduled booking retains the cancellation deadline confirmed for the new booking; repeated changes may be refused where reasonably necessary to prevent misuse.
5. Cancellation or changes by Iceland Rewild
5.1 Itinerary and operational changes.
Iceland Rewild reserves the right to adjust routes, schedules, departure times and itineraries where reasonably necessary because of weather, road conditions, safety considerations or other unforeseen circumstances. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the essential nature of the booked experience.
5.2 Northern Lights and natural conditions.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon. Their appearance, strength and visibility cannot be guaranteed. Iceland Rewild normally opens separately bookable Northern Lights departures only when forecasts and operating conditions appear suitable. However, forecasts may change, and opening a departure does not guarantee a sighting.
If the Northern Lights activity operates, the absence of a sighting or a change in cloud cover, weather or aurora activity does not entitle the customer to a refund, price reduction or compensation.
5.3 Separately paid Northern Lights bookings.
If a customer has paid separately for a Northern Lights activity:
a. No refund is payable merely because the Northern Lights are not visible, provided the activity operates.
b. If natural or weather conditions prevent the activity from operating safely or meaningfully, Iceland Rewild may cancel or reschedule the departure. We may offer an alternative date or booking credit instead of a cash refund.
c. If Iceland Rewild cancels because of an operational failure within our responsibility—such as vehicle breakdown, vehicle unavailability or the absence of a suitable guide—the customer may choose a full refund of the amount paid for that activity or an available alternative date.
5.4 Complimentary Northern Lights activities.
A Northern Lights activity may be included as a complimentary addition to a multi-day tour. A complimentary activity is provided without a separate charge and does not form part of the paid value of the main tour.
If conditions do not allow the complimentary Northern Lights activity to operate, or if the Northern Lights are not visible, no refund, credit, price reduction or other compensation is payable. Cancellation or non-operation of the complimentary activity does not constitute cancellation or material alteration of the main multi-day tour.
5.5 Safety decisions.
The final decision on whether an activity can operate belongs to Iceland Rewild and the assigned guide. Safety decisions may be made or changed at short notice because Icelandic weather and natural conditions can change rapidly.
5.6 Bookings through sales platforms.
For bookings made through GetYourGuide, Viator or another marketplace, cancellations and refunds are also subject to the terms displayed and confirmed by that platform. If a platform’s mandatory terms conflict with this section, the platform’s terms apply to that booking.
6. Weather, safety and guide authority
Icelandic weather and natural conditions can change quickly. The operating decision belongs to Iceland Rewild and the guide. If we determine that an experience can operate safely, a participant’s choice not to attend is treated as a customer cancellation. If we cancel because conditions are unsafe, section 5 applies.
Participants must follow safety instructions and the guide’s reasonable decisions. We may refuse or end participation where a person’s conduct, condition, equipment, intoxication or failure to follow instructions creates a safety risk or materially disrupts the group. No refund is due in those circumstances, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If a Northern Lights tour operates as scheduled, failure to see the Northern Lights does not create a right to a refund.
7. Participant responsibilities
-
Arrive at the stated meeting point by the stated check-in time; transport delays are the participant’s responsibility.
-
Read and meet all product-specific age, fitness, health, clothing, footwear, licence and mobility requirements.
-
Tell us before the experience about relevant medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, disabilities or assistance needs so that we can assess reasonable accommodation and safety; this does not guarantee participation.
-
Bring any identification, licence, medication, food, clothing and equipment stated in the product description.
-
Supervise children and ensure that each minor is accompanied as required by the product description.
8. Pick-up and punctuality
Where pick-up is included, the booker must provide an eligible pick-up location and be ready at the time and place stated in the confirmation. Pick-up details may be added or changed, subject to operational feasibility, until 24 hours before departure by emailing info@icelandrewild.com. Failure to provide the required details, arriving late, or waiting at the wrong location may result in the tour being missed without refund.
Pick-up times may be windows rather than exact times because of traffic, weather and multiple stops. Contact us promptly if the vehicle has not arrived by the end of the confirmed window.
9. Risk, insurance and liability
Outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including uneven terrain, ice, water, weather and remote locations. Participants must exercise reasonable care and follow instructions. We recommend appropriate travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment, evacuation, personal belongings and the planned activities.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or personal injury caused by negligence where it cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that rule, we are not liable for loss caused by the participant’s own act or omission, failure to meet stated requirements, or events outside our reasonable control.
If emergency rescue, medical treatment or repatriation is required, the participant is responsible for the resulting costs except to the extent those costs were caused by Iceland Rewild and liability cannot legally be excluded. Appropriate insurance is strongly recommended.
10. Vehicles, guides and partner operators
If a vehicle becomes unavailable or a guide cannot continue, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange a suitable replacement. We may reasonably delay, modify or shorten the experience where necessary. If a material part of the booked experience cannot be supplied, we will provide an appropriate partial refund for the undelivered part, unless the customer instead accepts a reasonably comparable alternative.
We may transfer a booking to a suitably qualified partner operator providing a substantially comparable experience. We will tell the customer about the change. If the substitute would materially alter the experience, the customer may reject it and receive a full refund.
11. Personal property and media
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings. Any photography or recording for promotional use requiring an identifiable participant’s consent will be handled separately; declining promotional photography will not affect the booking. Participants must respect other guests’ privacy and any site-specific drone or photography rules.
12. Privacy
We process personal information to administer bookings, communicate with participants, provide the experience, manage safety, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations. Details of the information used, legal bases, recipients, retention periods and individual rights are stated in our Privacy Policy. Booking and payment providers process information under their own privacy notices.
13. Marketplace bookings
For a booking made through GetYourGuide, Viator or another reseller or marketplace, payment, cancellation, amendment and refund requests must be handled through the channel used to book. The cancellation terms displayed and confirmed by that channel apply. These terms continue to govern operation and participation to the extent they do not conflict with the channel’s mandatory booking terms.
14. Complaints
Raise any issue with the guide as soon as possible so we have a reasonable opportunity to address it. After the experience, send a written complaint with the booking reference and relevant details to info@icelandrewild.com within a reasonable time. We will respond within a reasonable period. This does not restrict mandatory consumer remedies or complaint deadlines.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms and direct bookings are governed by Icelandic law. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Iceland, unless mandatory consumer law permits the customer to bring proceedings elsewhere. Before commencing proceedings, the parties should first try in good faith to resolve the issue directly.
16. General
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may update these terms for future bookings; the version accepted when the booking was made applies to that booking, unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed.
